"I began my light aircraft flying over the Fylde coast based at Blackpool Airport, if that didn’t put me off then I don’t think anything ever will. I studied for a PPL at Blackpool in 2012 and after finishing my A-Levels in the same year, I applied to CTC Aviation for a place on their then ‘Wings’ course.
My A-Levels were very broad brush as for a long time I had no idea that I wanted to be a commercial pilot. Flying was a brilliant hobby and I loved it however it took a while for me to gain some insight into life as a jet pilot. The more I learnt, the more I was fascinated. Having a company like ASP in this regard would have been hugely beneficial to my understanding of what I needed both academically and extra-curricular in order to be fully prepared for entering aviation.
"I began my CTC Wings training in January 2013 and having spent six months in Southampton, I followed a number of other cadets out to New Zealand for the flying stage. Eight months later and still no tan (being from the North West) I completed the flying in Bournemouth, then converted to multi-pilot operations during the Jet Orientation Course back in Southampton. I completed my CTC training in September 2014 and was almost immediately invited to an assessment for easyJet. The day went well and I began working for easyJet as a First Officer in November 2014. I’m still here today!
"ASP is something that I wish I had when I was starting to learn about flying. The information and experience that is available on their site and through all of their ambassadors, material is second-to-none and it is a great feeling to be a part of something to beneficial to future pilots."
