We also offer a pathway for current professional pilots.
For the first time, current professional pilots can gain professional recognition via a BSc(Hons) Professional Practice in Advanced Pilot Aviation work-based degree. The programme is specifically designed to enable practising pilots to gain recognition and academic credit for their prior professional learning and Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
Professional Pilots who have more than three years current experience flying for airlines and operators can now apply to the final stages of a new degree developed by Middlesex University working with the Aviation Skills Partnership. This new programme allows existing pilots to gain professional recognition whilst undertaking their normal flying role and duties as professional pilots.
This innovative programme provides the opportunity to develop new learning towards achieving the degree to be drawn from elements such as recurrent training, line checks, simulator checks, safety training, voyage reports and such like. The combination of accrediting prior learning and new professional work-based learning can provide the opportunity to achieve the Middlesex University awarded BSc(Hons) degree in as little as 18 months. Student funding is available for eligible students.
