The appointment of Ray Elgy as Chief Technical Officer with accountability for the pilot and engineering programmes. Ray joined ASP in 2014 and has led the development of ASP’s programmes and been a key member of the Advisory Board.

The appointment of Fleur Johnson as Chief Operating Officer for Aviation Skills Partnership with effect from 1st January 2016. She will also continue to be a member of ASP’s Advisory Board and her area of responsibility will be Partnerships, Hubs and Programmes. She will work with Ray Elgy to further develop the pilot and engineer programmes.

Fleur joined ASP’s Advisory Board in May 2015 to underpin the development of programmes across the six areas of aviation, complementing Ray’s work on the pilot and engineering side. She is a highly experience aviation executive with extensive operational, management and leadership experience in aviation safety, regulatory training, business development and consultancy. Most recently, she was with CAA International as Senior Business Manager following an impressive airline career across the regulatory training and competency domain.

Fleur has held Accountable positions in Industry and Approved Training Organisations (ATO) for cabin safety and regulatory compliance with substantial exposure to Crew Operations and Safety Culture initiatives, providing technical expertise on Cabin Safety and Regulatory requirements for Flying Staff. She has proven experience in the people management of teams, including technical specialists and consultants and in the development and delivery of training initiatives for Regulators and large Air Transport Operations International.

The appointment of Hazel Hutchinson as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Advisory Board. Hazel has worked in the corporate finance and finance sector for almost 30 years. She started her career in corporate banking and rescue finance in Ireland in the 1980’s and then moved to London as a senior executive with Bank of Boston Ventures where she was responsible for multiple investments in a wide range of sectors.

In the early 1990’s Hazel set up a boutique corporate advisory firm to provide quality financial and strategic advice to entrepreneurs and management teams. Hazel concentrates on working with entrepreneurs and their management teams who are building large high growth businesses and often require investment and finance in addition to strategic advice. She develops very long term relationships with her clients, many of whom are involved in multiple businesses and have worked with her for over 20 years. Clients have included Sinclair Beecham (founder of Prêt), Simon Woodroffe (Founder of YO!), Peter Roberts (North of England Entrepreneur of the Year 2015) and the Taylor family. Hazel sits on the Board of the company which owns the Virgin Formula E Racing team and the largest indoor go-karting company in the UK – TeamSport Holdings Limited.
